Subject: Applied AI Society x AITX: Briefing Before Our Monday Call
Hey Jake and Michael,
Excited about the hackathon this weekend. Thanks for putting it on.
Finally getting around to sending you a proper briefing on the soon to be launched Applied AI Society and the event series I'd like to collaborate with you on.
Looking forward to discussing on Monday, Dec 15th (Let me know if that time doesn't work for you, Jake! I put a hold on Michael's calendar a little over a week ago).
The Problem Applied AI Society Aims To Help Solve
One of the biggest challenges I see in the AI ecosystem is the last mile problem:
- There are tons of people who want to build tools to help businesses but need to connect and talk to more businesses
- There are businesses hungry to integrate AI but not getting good education or connected with implementers
- There are engineers entering a frozen job market who want to provide real value during this AI revolution
All of this illuminates an opportunity for what I'm calling the Applied AI Engineer. Someone who gets embedded with or forward-deployed into companies to apply the most useful tools to their specific agentic workflows. Could be full-time, could be a small agency model.
The Event Series: "Applied AI Live"
I'm proposing an event series almost exclusively focused on:
-
Practitioner Presentations: An applied AI engineer with a track record presents how they actually helped companies. Real case studies, happy clients, the whole thing.
-
Live Architecting Sessions: A real business owner comes up with a problem, and an applied AI engineer helps architect the solution on the spot. Audience learns by watching the process.
Why I Believe This Will Be A Win for AITX
I think the applied AI engineer and the businesses they serve could be a big part of the AITX world going forward, and this event format could be a big boon for your community:
- Valuable for business owners who want to see how AI actually gets implemented
- Valuable for engineers who want to learn the craft of helping businesses apply AI
- Deals happening: people leaving with projects to work on
I'm coming with a collaborative mindset. Want to make sure the first chapter kicks off on the right note.
Logistics Thinking
- Timing: Maybe mid-January launch
- Venue: Open to exploring options! Haven't been to Antler HQ, but wherever we go should have capacity for 50+ and needs good lighting, sound, and recording capabilities.
Just wanted to plant the seed and give you context before we meet.
Glad we connected.
