Dear Anthropic Hiring Team,

I'm Gary Sheng, and I want to help grow Claude's developer ecosystem.

I use Claude every single day. For comprehensive upkeep of my personal CRM, for writing, for coding. It's the large language model I use most by far. Claude is practical, flexible, and the tool I recommend to everyone. I want to see Claude succeed because I've experienced firsthand how it empowers developers to build responsibly and effectively.

I started my career as a Software Engineer at Google Cloud from 2015 to 2019 (https://www.garysheng.com/stories/google-software-engineering), leading a small team. I can translate complex technical ideas for audiences ranging from individual developers to enterprise executives.

I can create my own code demos, critically review developer samples, and provide specific technical feedback. I've built applications using tools like Cursor and Claude Code. I know what developers need because I am one.

  1. I'm a Huge Fan of Documentation, and I Write Good Documentation

I'm passionate about documentation because it's the foundation of how developers understand and adopt new technologies. I've even developed a framework called "truth management" (https://github.com/garysheng/truth-management/blob/main/why-truth-management-matters.md) for how organizations systematically document their operational knowledge.

  1. I'm Committed to Responsible AI Development

I'm passionate about AI's potential and deeply committed to ensuring it's developed responsibly. I currently advise the Catholic Church on AI strategy, education, and ethics (an institution serving 1.3 billion people). In fact I was just at a summit in Rome where the big topic was how to align AI with the common good. Pope Leo gave an address.

My life's work centers on democratizing human flourishing (https://substack.garysheng.com/p/looking-for-a-mission-to-pursue-try). I believe Claude represents AI that follows human intent rather than replacing human judgment. That's why I recommend it to everyone.
