Hey Ron and Nait - introducing you guys as I mentioned:
To Nait:
It was great seeing you and James at lunch today. I’m excited to introduce you to Ron Roberts (https://ronroberts.me/). Ron's an incredibly sharp guy who I helped bring into the Alpha Schools team when I was still feeling optimistic about it in April/May. He knows it's unlikely to be a long-term place for him, but it's good pay and teaching him a lot about the nature of the Beast of the education system (including those trying to reform it). If anyone's smart and spiritually strong enough to nudge Alpha in a better direction, it's Ron.
Ron has been prolific in impact within music spaces - advised rappers and entertainers, helped broker deals over the last few years. He's navigating the world as a young, talented Black man who's inevitably misunderstood by most people he could work with. He's exploring all the different ways to apply his network toward building financial sustainability, including being a VC scout which I know you know a lot about.
Your Alpha experience will be extremely informative for Ron, and I think you two would have fascinating conversations about entrepreneurship, spiritual discernment, and navigating the world in a way that honors God.
To Ron:
Excited to introduce you to meet Nait Jones. Nait's a serial entrepreneur, former A16Z partner (7+ years, generated $200M+ in profits), currently CEO of Oyi Labs building AdTwin.ai (http://adtwin.ai/).
He grew up in a churchy family, has wild entrepreneurship stories, was huge on Clubhouse (4M followers), and worked closely with Kanye during the Yeezus to Pablo era. Ask him about his experience as an Alpha parent.
Nait probably understands what you are going through and will go through like no one else I know personally. And he's got deep spiritual discernment and has seen levels of success and spiritual warfare that few people can relate to. I think you'd learn a ton from each other.
Y'all should grab coffee or something in the next week or two. You're both in Austin, both navigating similar challenges from different generations, and both have the spiritual foundation to build something meaningful together.
Let me know if you connect!
