Favorite Story - Christ's Visit to Nephites: **"That instant right there, where He's about to leave. He's taught these people amazing things. He sees that they're literally crying, and they're wanting Him to stay. So He chooses to stay and to heal them. Just that simple choice that He made to have compassion on them. That He is moved by that. This is Jesus Christ in all His glory. It's just a few people who wanted to stay a little longer. He's got other places to be, and He chooses to stay with the people who want Him right there. That's my absolute favorite story of Jesus Christ."

On Divine Doctrine: "It says it's another testament of Jesus Christ. And so everything that's contained in the Book of Mormon just points right back to him. It doesn't replace the Bible at all. It doesn't add to it in a sense that it's more Bible, but it's another testament."

On Universal Application: "Even the things that Christ teaches, it isn't just teachings for how to follow his gospel, but just teachings for how to be a good person... If you just apply it to mental health, it's like, oh, here's how to have good mental health. Just think in these ways. Good health, good relationships."

On Natural Man vs. Spiritual Nature: "The Book of Mormon describes the idea of the natural man. And how it's an enemy to God. And the natural man is like the human instincts. To be selfish, to be prideful, or any of those sort of things. The instinctive human creature side of us. But then our souls, our spirits, are born from God. And so it's really just a fight internally within us every single day. Of which side we're going to choose, which wolf we're going to feed."

On Personal Responsibility: "We can only control our own actions. We can't control what other people do. When people do something, we can't control what they do to us, but we can control how we react to it. When we choose to react in a loving way, or in a positive way, or even in just a stepping back kind of way, and not retaliating, that takes the burden of any guilt off of us. It's up to them to make that restitution."

On Gathering Israel: "So, I'm actually not entirely sure if this is completely unique to the church... So we, as missionaries, we are here to gather Israel. And Israel is anyone who wants to follow God, who wants to make a covenant... It's not just a certain number of people are going to be saved.
