  • Senior software engineer with 41+ years of coding experience (started at age 5 on Apple II in 1983)
  • Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Fortune 500 consultant specializing in data analytics and AI integration
  • Previously mobile application architect for a healthcare system building websites, iPhone, and Android apps
  • Worked with telecommunications companies (Verizon), governments, and major international organizations
  • Hasn't manually written more than a couple hundred lines of code since 2022 - pioneered "vibe coding" approach
  • Christian, husband, father of 4 (soon to be 5 - baby due February 2026)
  • Homeschooled his children while wife completed 12 years of medical training
  • Wife is now an oncologist; they recently moved back to Tyler, TX from Temple/Belton area

Professional Expertise

  • Programming Languages: Approximately 60 different languages before ChatGPT
  • Platforms: Every native mobile OS since before Palm Pilot, desktops, hardware, networking, DevOps
  • AI Focus: Deep expertise in Claude Code, AI coding assistants, prompt engineering, context optimization
  • Specialty: Building AI wrappers, agents, and tools; converting any web interface into an API
  • Known For: Hook-based context management, "Project Indexer" approach for large codebases

Current Projects (December 2025)

1. Voice-First Claude Code Interface

  • Two-way real-time voice interaction with Claude Code terminal sessions
  • Uses Siri with locked screen, iOS app microphone for speech-to-text
  • Text-to-speech reads Claude's responses in real time
  • Can compose responses while paused, switch sessions, create new projects
  • Auto-updates forms based on voice commands
  • Goal: "Cardio coding" - coding while walking, driving, untethered from screens
  • Motivation: 46 years of screen time, wants freedom; also wants more words around new baby

2. "Everything Agent" (Personal Jarvis)

  • Aggregates all siloed information sources (GroupMe, school websites, Teams, calendar, texts, Gmail, etc.)
  • LLM parses content based on user context and urgency levels
  • Sends Pushover alerts for urgent items
  • Auto-schedules calendar items, manages daily task lists, reorders and migrates tasks
  • Integrated with Limitless pendant for life logging with trigger wake phrases
  • Runs on Mac Mini using Claude Code headless with Max subscription tokens
  • Goal: Never have to open a computer or type again for routine information management

3. "The Alignment Hypothesis"

  • Major philosophical/theological work synthesizing physics, faith, simulation theory, and AI alignment
  • Contains a "trilemma" similar to simulation theory and a "universal alignment imperative"
  • Would take 366+ minutes for text-to-speech to read current version
  • Tier One: Non-religious, falsifiable predictions about AI training techniques for aligned moral agents
  • Tier Two: Bayesian analysis of "surprising coincidences" in our universe that map to Christianity
  • Goal: Provide rational skeptics with compelling argument to "justify belief" and choose faith without feeling irrational
  • Personal motivation: Spent decade in atheism after deconstructing; struggled to return to faith; found this argument personally compelling
  • Careful to phrase it to avoid cult-like misinterpretation

AI Safety & Anthropic Advocacy

  • Deep commitment to AI safety; "if I could snap my fingers and make it go away, I would, but can't"
  • Met with Alex Albert (Claude's Director of Relations) to pitch browser subscription model for coding agents
  • Suggested multi-surface subscription usage; shortly after, Claude released Claude Max subscription
  • Uses $20,000/month worth of API tokens for $200 through Claude Max
  • Participates in red teaming/bug bounty to find prompt injection vulnerabilities
  • Connected with "Elder Plinus" / "Pliny the Liberator" on AI model jailbreaking
  • Concerned about zero-day exploits for extremists if models remain prompt-hackable
  • Views St. Petersburg paradox as analogy for AI safety risk calculation

Faith Journey

  • Grew up with strong Christian conviction
  • Deconstructed faith after learning about metacognition, reasoning flaws, fallacies, biases
  • Spent decade as atheist; traditional apologetics had "rebuttals and counters" that concerned him
  • Wanted to return to faith but struggled intellectually
  • Developed "Alignment Hypothesis" framework that personally convinced him
  • Now active Christian; children attend Grace Community School (private Christian school in Tyler)
  • Wife attended Grace Community School K-12

Connection to Gary Sheng

  • First Contact: December 17, 2025 - Phone call while Eric was driving/dropping off kids
  • Shared Interests: Faith-based education, AI integration in schools, Christian technology leadership
  • Gary's Pitch: Invited Eric to potentially speak at Applied AI community events in Austin in early 2026
  • Eric's School Involvement: Gives talks to computer science classes, mentors students in STEM through "Inspire" mentorship program
  • Potential Collaboration: Demo/talk about AI career paths for new grads at Applied AI events

Key Insights & Perspectives

On AI and Coding

  • "Since that moment [ChatGPT launch], I haven't written more than a couple hundred lines of code. Since 2022"
  • Built browser automation to use subscriptions instead of multiple API payments
  • "You can turn anything on the Web or the computer into an API"
  • Views programming language evolution as trajectory toward natural language: "Assembly → low-level → object-oriented → Python → English"

On Longevity & Brian Johnson

  • Follows Brian Johnson's longevity work; has some of his products
  • Believes risk calculus should change given potential medical advances
  • "If you knew that if you could just live long enough, you could live quite a bit longer. Would that affect anything?"
  • Disagrees with cult aspects and "not dying" messaging but appreciates practical health optimization data

On AI Safety

  • "Most people aren't aware that every AI model that's out right now you can break with a prompt"
  • "If the technology, the current reinforcement learning path, doesn't yield models that are immune to this, then there's always a hole"
  • Anthropic advocacy stems from AI safety commitment more than product preference

On Faith and Rationality

  • "You can't force belief. You know, you can't believe in a square circle"
  • Alignment Hypothesis designed to "get you to the point where you felt like you could make that choice rationally"
  • "Christianity maps on almost completely to this argument"

Personal Details

  • Age: 46 (as of December 2025)
  • Family: Wife (oncologist), 4 children (5th due February 2026)
  • Location: Tyler, TX (moved from Temple/Belton 2 years ago)
  • Self-described weakness: "I don't have too many words I'll think in my head. And babies need to be around words"
  • Preference: Dislikes typing and looking at screens; building systems to minimize both
  • School: Children attend Grace Community School (private Christian school in Tyler)
