Why Jordan Peterson's Defense of Israel Falls Apart
Let me explain why his secular arguments for Israel crumble against spiritual reality.
Jordan Peterson defends Israel. But not for God's covenant. Not for prophecy. Not for Christ returning to Jerusalem.
He defends it for "Western civilization." For "cultural values." For the money flowing through his Daily Wire-related speaking contracts.
This is the fundamental weakness of every secular defense of Israel - it has no spiritual foundation. And without that foundation, it all collapses.
Peterson's name is literally Jordan - the river where Christ was baptized. The holy water that marks the promised land. Yet he's stuck calling the Bible "good fairy tales" while his body falls apart from the medical nightmare he's fighting now.
Isaiah and I talked about this. Peterson has no reason to defend Israel beyond financial interest in his current level of spiritual commitment and understanding.
He can't make a religious argument because he doesn't seem to actually believe God is real. He thinks the Bible contains useful psychological archetypes. Mythology to help us organize society.
He has helped me on my path toward Christ, but his half-heartedness toward the Bible makes it hard to take the positions he has taken (e.g. for Israel).
Here's what secularists can't grasp: You can only defend Israel coherently through genuine faith. Either God made an everlasting covenant with Abraham's descendants, or He didn't. Either Jerusalem matters in prophecy, or it doesn't. Either Christ returns there, or He doesn't.
Without these truths, you're just picking sides in a Middle Eastern land dispute based on vibes, what the UN says, and donor pressure.
The same goes for opposing Islamic influence in America. Secular arguments about "democracy" and "Western values" are paper-thin shields. Only truth matters: Muhammad is a false prophet. Allah is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Quran contradicts Christ's divinity.
Say it plainly or lose the spiritual war, which manifests in the physical world (see: Dearborn, Michigan).
Peterson can't say "I beleive in God, and so... [insert argument rooted in Biblical truth]". He's too invested in being a high brow intellectual, and I think deep down he wants to be respected by the secular intellectual world!
You will fail to defend God's chosen people if you don't show that you submit to God.
The secular defense of Israel just doesn't work. The secular argument of genocide is just too strong. Let's be honest.
And overall, secularism isn't a bulwark against false religions (like Islam, Hinduism etc).
You want to defend Israel? Read Romans 9-11. Understand God's plan. Accept that salvation came through the Jews. Recognize Jerusalem's role in prophecy. Commit to making non-Christian Jews jealous of the joy and abundance of your life as a Christian.
Or admit you're just another secular "right wing" talking head defending your income stream.
