A letter for Dr. Lael A. Alexander

Dear Doc,

As you hold this letter, you stand at the precipice of a new chapter—one that God has orchestrated through His perfect timing, not yours.

As you read these words, your bank account is flusher than it has ever been, and the generation-defining Pegasus Plan is kicking into motion. I write to you in the tradition of those who have witnessed transitions of great responsibility and abundance, knowing that with great blessing comes great stewardship.

I am profoundly grateful to have witnessed the re-beginning of your beautiful story. The beginning was when you were born with extraordinary potential. Another beginning was when you built the infrastructure that transformed China. Another was when you rebuilt yourself after loss and returned to discover hundreds of companies growing from seeds you had planted. Today marks yet another beginning—perhaps the most significant. I am grateful that God connected us over education, giving us countless excuses to spend time together, to truly know one another, and to recognize that while certain opportunities didn't align, our partnership was divinely ordained. It has been an honor to meet your family, to witness Lakeida's wisdom and strength, to see Coleman's devoted friendship and Josh's steadfast partnership, and to understand the depth of love that surrounds you. Most of all, I am grateful to have watched you trust God through every season, maintaining your integrity when lesser men would have compromised.

As you move forward in this abundance, remember always that you are building a cathedral. Not merely buildings—though you will design many, including the next great houses of worship—but a life's work that spans generations. Like the Sagrada Familia, what you are constructing may not be completed in your lifetime, but it will stand as a testament to divine craftsmanship. The world will rush you. Every problem will demand immediate resolution. Every opportunity will cry urgency. But God's timeline is not man's timeline. Trust that your faithful actions today will bear fruit in the hands of your descendants, both blood and chosen, who will carry forward what you have begun. This is how you demonstrate faith: by working diligently without being driven by panic, by solving problems without sacrificing the long-term vision for short-term gains.

Yet in all this noble work, you must guard your health as you would guard the most precious blueprint. The enemy's greatest weapon against you is not external opposition but internal compromise—the temptation to take on more than you can sustain. There will always be people dying, people starving, wars raging, crises demanding your immediate attention. But if you do not help yourself by staying alive and healthy, you help no one. The devil wants you to believe that rest is selfishness, that boundaries are weakness. This is a lie. Build educational institutions not just to teach others, but to scale yourself—to multiply your impact without multiplying your burden. Teach others to fish rather than fishing for everyone yourself.

In this new season of influence and resources, you must also be a living example of divine reliability. God wants you to be a man whose word is unbreakable, whose commitments are sacred, whose promises reflect His own faithfulness. Resist the urge to make promises you cannot keep, no matter how noble the intention. It is better to commit to less and deliver fully than to overcommit and underdeliver. Every broken promise, no matter how well-intentioned, erodes trust and dishonors the God who called you to excellence. Respect time—yours and others'—as the sacred resource it is. In doing so, you build a golden reputation that opens doors no money could unlock.

Above all, Doc, know this with certainty: you are enough. What you have accomplished is extraordinary. Who you are is sufficient. There is no need for exaggeration, no need for stages that don't serve the larger mission, no need for events that merely feed ego rather than advance purpose. When you truly believe you are enough—when you trust both yourself and God—you will make the right judgment calls every day. You will hire the right people, make the right partnerships, and say no to the wrong opportunities. You will lead from a place of abundance rather than insecurity. This is not pride; this is faith. This is trusting that God knew what He was doing when He made you who you are.

And as you move forward, know this: I am committed to always being a force multiplier in your life. At different points, there will be different roles called for me, and the beautiful thing is that this will change over time. As we both believe in the importance of automating systems and streaming everything possible, we understand that what needs to be made can first be done manually and then automated. The work will always change—no two days will look the same in one year. One day I may be working on a biography of your life from an outside perspective, alongside other projects like a Tulsa-based fellowship program for superindustrialists. Another day I may be full-time building a revolutionary product with you and out in the world leading that company.

But at any point, I promise you that I will be committed to being a force multiplier in your mission to universalize human flourishing and build God's kingdom on Earth. Know that I will be humbly learning, supporting you, telling the truth, reminding you of what you're capable of, and reminding you to have fun and enjoy the journey along the way. You got this. I got you, and together we will build a much brighter future.

Doc, this is the beginning of a divinely aligned chapter of your life. The resources coming to you are rewards for your extraordinary achievements, but more importantly, they are seeds for future transformation. Use them to build that monastery for the world's next superindustrialists—starting with one or two proteges, then a dozen, then institutions where your proteges mentor their own proteges. Use them to create the educational revolution that will reshape how humanity learns. Use them to demonstrate that nitrogen, not carbon, is the foundation of life. Use them to prove that divine principles work in practical reality. But most of all, use them to help as many people connect to the God who entrusted them to you.

You got this, because God's got you.

The work continues. The cathedral rises. The story unfolds as it was always meant to.

With deepest respect and brotherhood,

Gary Sheng
