Episode 00023: Your Resistance Is Proof You're A Threat

January 6, 2026

Greeting

Welcome back to The Daily Spirit. Tuesday, January 6th, 2026. Five minutes of spirit-filled encouragement to fuel what could be your best day yet.

I'm glad you're here.

Opening Hook

You ever have those seasons where it can feel like obstacles keep stacking up? Where just when you think you're gaining momentum, something else seems to go wrong?

Maybe you're dealing with a health issue. Maybe a relationship feels strained. Maybe the finances seem impossible right now. Maybe you're just tired.

I want to offer you a different lens today.

What if the resistance you're experiencing is actually proof that you're a threat to the enemy?

Scripture

James 1:2-4: "Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way."

Trials aren't punishment. They're refinement. And sometimes, they're spiritual warfare. The enemy attacks what threatens him.

Personal Touch

I want to tell you about my friend Ida. She's become a spiritual mother to me. And her life is one giant testimony of overcoming the enemy's attacks.

When Ida was born, her legs were inverted. Doctors had to break them so she could walk. From birth until eleven, she had a disease doctors said would kill her. Her family prayed constantly. At puberty, it vanished. Healed.

Years later, she went to minister at the Uvalde massacre memorial. While praying with families, her insides twisted. The next day she woke up unable to move. Every joint locked. Burning pain. Doctors couldn't explain it. The illness lasted years. People told her she would die. She said: "I rebuke that in the name of Jesus." Eventually she was healed at a revival.

Why so many attacks? Because Ida has been in ministry since she was a teenager. She led a Christian revival where two thousand kids showed up and hundreds gave their lives to Christ. She spent decades working with kids from gang life, incarcerated parents, abuse, addiction, suicide. Over forty years pulling people toward the light.

She told me: "If you're not a threat, nothing's going to happen in your life. If you're a threat to him, you're going to be attacked. Period."

The devil tried to stop Ida before she could walk. Before she could reach puberty. At Uvalde. But she's still here. Still fighting. Still winning.

Core Message

So what are you facing? Here's the reframe: what if that resistance is proof you're exactly where you need to be? What if the enemy is working overtime because he knows what's on the other side of your obedience?

If Ida gave up when she was born, she wouldn't have saved those thousands of kids. If she gave up during that illness, she wouldn't be on the path to reinventing Christian education in Texas as we speak.

So what are you giving up on that you shouldn't?

The resistance isn't random. It's targeted. The devil has no real power. He only has lies. He wins in your mind. That's the battlefield.

Instead of asking "why is this happening to me," ask: "what is God preparing me for?"

You are being refined. You are being strengthened. And you are going to be more dangerous to the enemy on the other side.

Affirmations

Let's speak some truth and life over your day. Repeat after me.

[Pause after each]

My resistance is proof I'm a threat.

I was made for this battle.

The enemy has no power over me.

I will not give up.

This will be the best day of my life.

Closing

That's it for today. Go get after it. God is with you. Talk tomorrow.

The Enemy Attacks What Threatens Him

You ever notice how the hardest seasons come right before the breakthrough?

"Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors."

— James 1:2-4 (MSG)

I want to tell you about my friend Ida. She's become a spiritual mother to me. And her life is one giant testimony of the enemy trying to take her out.

Born with inverted legs. Doctors had to break them so she could walk. A rare disease from birth that doctors said would kill her before puberty. She was healed.

Years later, she went to minister at the Uvalde massacre memorial. While praying with traumatized families, her insides twisted. The next day she woke up unable to move. Every joint locked. Burning pain. Doctors couldn't explain it. The illness lasted years. The pain was so severe she had suicidal thoughts. People told her she would die. She rebuked it in the name of Jesus. Healed at a revival.

Why so many attacks? Because Ida has been in ministry for over forty years. She led a revival where two thousand kids showed up and hundreds gave their lives to Christ. She spent decades counseling kids from gang life, abuse, addiction, incarcerated parents, suicide. Thousands of lives changed.

She told me: "If you're not a threat, nothing's going to happen in your life. If you're a threat to him, you're going to be attacked. Period."

So what are you facing? What door keeps closing? What voice keeps whispering that you're not enough?

Here's the reframe: the resistance is proof of your assignment. The enemy is working overtime because he knows what's on the other side of your obedience.

Get mentally prepared. But know this: you were made for this.
