Episode 00017: You Were Made For This

December 22, 2025

Greeting

Welcome back to The Daily Spirit. Monday, December 22nd, 2025. Five minutes of spirit-filled encouragement to start your week.

Opening Hook

Do you ever feel guilty for loving your work?

Maybe people around you talk about hobbies. What they do on the weekends. Their side passions. And you're sitting there thinking: I just want to keep working. Is something wrong with me?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. And I want to share something with you.

Scripture & Core Message

Ephesians 2:10: "He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing."

God prepared work for you. Before you were born. He designed you with a specific shape. A specific set of gifts. A specific calling. And when you step into that calling, work doesn't feel like work anymore.

It's flow. It's Godflow.

The Reflection

I was talking to my friend Tim this weekend. We were mapping out 2026. It's going to be busy. Relentlessly busy. And you know what? I'm fine with that.

Because here's the thing I realized. Some people do base jumping. Some people play pickleball. Some people knit. And sometimes I wonder: am I an alien? Why do I just want to work?

But then I realized something. My calling IS my hobby. Serving God IS my passion. When I'm in obedience to what He's put in front of me, that's where I come alive.

Do you think Paul in the Bible needed to play the first-century equivalent of Fortnite to unwind? Do you think there was anything more thrilling to him than advancing the Kingdom?

Now look, I'm not attacking people who have hobbies. That's not the point. The point is this: if you feel most alive when you're doing what God created you to do, don't apologize for that. Don't feel weird about it. Lean into it.

Exhortation

Here's my encouragement to you this Monday.

There's a God-shaped hole in the world. And you're shaped to fill it.

Think of it like a divine Ikigai. Where what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what God called you to do all overlap. That's the sweet spot. That's Godflow.

When you're in Godflow, you're growing every day. You're stretched just enough. You have the skills to handle what's in front of you, but you're still learning. You're adding value. And you're enjoying it because God designed you to enjoy it.

Not everyone is called to the same thing. Your shape is different from mine. But the principle is the same. Find your shape. Fill it. And don't be ashamed to love it.

2026 is coming. Step into your calling. Step into the work God prepared for you. And don't look back.

Affirmations

Let's speak some truth over your calling. I'll say it, you repeat.

[Pause after each for repetition]

I was made for this.

My calling is my passion.

I step into the work God prepared for me.

I am in Godflow.

I fill the God-shaped hole in the world.

I am not ashamed of my purpose.

Closing

That's it for today.

Go get after it this week. Step into your calling. God is with you.

Talk tomorrow.
