Episode 00008: You Will Not Give Up
December 11, 2025
Greeting
Welcome back to The Daily Spirit. Thursday, December 11th, 2025. Five minutes of spirit-filled encouragement to start your day.
Opening Hook
How much of life is just not giving up?
I've been thinking about this a lot. How much of success, of breakthrough, of becoming who you're meant to be... is simply refusing to quit?
I started running a few weeks ago. Twenty-five minute runs. Modest pace. Nothing impressive. But here's the thing—I don't care how fast I'm going. The achievement for me is finishing. Not stopping. Not giving up mid-run when my lungs burn and my legs want to quit.
And I know for a fact there's something deeply biblical about that.
Scripture & Core Message
Galatians 6:9: "So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit."
If we don't give up. If we don't quit.
Think about Joseph. At seventeen, God gave him dreams—visions of his brothers' sheaves bowing to his, the sun and moon and stars bowing to him. Dreams that said: you will lead. His brothers hated him for it. Sold him into slavery. He got falsely accused. Thrown in prison. Forgotten.
Thirteen years passed.
But Joseph never gave up. He kept doing excellent work—in Potiphar's house, in prison, wherever he was. He stayed faithful. And at thirty years old, he became second in command of all Egypt.
Thirteen years of not giving up. That's what it took. And I'm impatient about not seeing results after trying for just a few weeks.
I don't know about you, but I needed to put things in perspective.
Exhortation
Here's what I want you to hear today.
When God puts something on your heart—a promise, a vision, a calling—it's sacred. And your job is to be faithful like He's faithful. God doesn't break His promises. He doesn't give up on His children. And when you make a commitment to yourself, to your calling, you're modeling that same faithfulness.
My friend Chauncey is walking in this right now. He believes God is leading him to work at a faith-based tech company. So he's hyper-prepared for every interview. He's not even applying anywhere else. That's the level of faith I aspire to.
I'll be honest—I'm still learning this. I struggle with sticking to things. But I'm working on treating my promises to myself as sacred. Limiting my must-do daily to-dos to three or four things so I actually follow through. Being a man of my word.
Because being someone who does what they say they're going to do? That's one of the greatest signs of godliness.
Affirmations
Let's speak some truth over your perseverance. I'll say it, you repeat.
[Pause after each for repetition]
I will not give up.
My commitments to myself are sacred.
I am faithful like God is faithful.
At the right time, I will reap a harvest.
I do what I say I'm going to do.
I finish what I start.
Closing
That's it for today.
Don't give up. Whatever God put on your heart—stay faithful. The harvest is coming.
I love you. Talk tomorrow.
